High Places

The people were still sacrificing on the high places,
because there was no house built for the name of the LORD until those days.

1 Kings 3:2

The Grand Teton from the vantage of Rendezvous Peak

Turning northwest

Directly west

Rendezvous Bowl to the south

And back east from whence we came

Harder to find snow on this visit

Now on to Thermopolis, Wyoming and a hike up Roundtop Mountain

A view of the town's cemetery from halfway up

And a look back at the car

A view from the top, looking out at hazy Wind River Canyon in the south

A golf course and airstrip to the east

Northeast

Soaring overhead...

Just the hardiest plants live up there.

Looking north

Great rock formations on the outer rim

Brown debris below, watched over by a brown cow

Out west

A stone spiral marked a sacred location

A sage grouse guards the area

An arrangement of stones pointing north

A small mound near the summit

And the official marker

A pair of friends wishing us well on the way out

Last part of the adventure - on to Colorado!

Into the tunnel

It's a long one.

Cruising past the Continental Divide

Out the other side, and heading due east

A last stop in Little Sweden -- Lindsborg, Kansas
